In India, Xiaomi is now introducing more premium smartphones than in the past. Its flagship smartphone, the Mi 11 Ultra, garnered favourable reviews in the nation last year. The business released the Xiaomi 12 Pro this year, at a competitive price of 62,999. After the Motorola Edge 30 Pro and the Realme GT 2 Pro, the phone is now India's third-cheapest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device. Is it enough to convince someone to buy it? In our evaluation of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, let's find out.
Let's first have a look at the features of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. There are three 50MP cameras on the back, a stunning 120Hz OLED screen, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, a gorgeous design, and a huge 120W fast charging capability. It is more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy S22 series phones and the iQOO 9 Pro.
For its high-end phones in 2022, Xiaomi now has a unified design language. Similar to the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Lite, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a similar appearance. In case you were wondering, the other Xiaomi 12 series phones have not yet been introduced in India.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a frame made of aluminium that is encased in two sheets of Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone is really well-made. The all-screen design includes curved edges and incredibly small bezels on the front. There is an optical fingerprint scanner built into the screen. Additionally, a punch-hole cutout in the centre is included for the selfie camera.
The glass panel on the phone's back has a frosted surface with sparkles that catch the light at various angles and make them glitter. The frosted coating lessens fingerprints even if it can't keep the phone from becoming slippery. The buttons are conveniently placed and click easily.
The rear triple-camera array is mounted on a metal frame that appears to be quite well-designed. In a sea of triple-camera smartphones, Xiaomi has somehow distinguished the Xiaomi 12 Pro's appearance from the others.
One loudspeaker is located on top of the phone, while the other is located on the bottom. Harman Kardon, an audio company owned by Samsung, adjusted the speakers. The grilles of the loudspeakers are fashioned like sound waves. Unusual move by Xiaomi. It's challenging to cover both speakers while holding the phone in landscape mode because they are situated on opposite sides of the device. You will, however, inevitably cover one of those speakers. Do you believe in intelligent design? Your choice.
Overall, I adore the Xiaomi 12 Pro's stylish appearance and lean construction. Because of its heaviness and rounded form, the phone feels comfortable in the hand. However, it doesn't provide adequate grip, thus I advise obtaining a premium phone cover.
A pretty nice high-end phone is the Xiaomi 12 Pro. It boasts an elegant appearance, a superb 120Hz OLED screen, and reliable rear cameras. It has incredible 120W quick charging and is swift and seamless. We are unable to give it our unqualified endorsement, however, because to the lack of an IP rating and the poor battery life.
