As promised, Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi 12 5G, its most recent low-cost 5G smartphone, in India. It is the first phone in the world to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and features a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD screen with a central punch-hole.
It is just 8.17mm thin, having a crystal glass design, up to 256GB storage, and up to 8GB of virtual RAM. It also boasts IP53 certifications for dust and water protection.
The manufacturer has promised two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates for the phone, which runs MIUI 14 on top of Android 13. It comes with 18W fast charging, a 5000mAh battery, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

It will be available online and Xiaomi retail stores offline starting from August 4th.
