The need to respond to the question “Why AirPods?” has passed. One of Apple's most well-known and significant products is its line of wireless headphones. According to Apple, its wireless headphones are the most widely used throughout the globe.
There is only up from here, barring a huge product blunder, which is why Apple decided to provide two minor but significant changes to its second-generation AirPods, also known as AirPods 2. One is located within the wireless headphones, while the other is housed in the casing like a floss bottle.
Beginning with the long-rumored wireless charging case, Apple has now made it available. Although it doesn't look quite like the original battery case, it still has a 19-hour listening capacity. Only the relocated pairing button, brushed metal hinge (instead of chrome), and, most importantly, the relocation of the LED charge indicator from inside the case between the AirPod slots to the front of the case serve as telltale signs that this is a new case.
Opening the cover and peeking inside was necessary to check that LED prior. The light now either shines amber to show that the case is charging or green to show that the case and AirPods are completely charged when I set the case on any Qi-based charger. If I press and hold the pairing button to connect to a non-iOS device, that light will likewise flash white. There is a two-gram weight difference despite the largely similar case design—there is still a Lightning connector on the bottom—which is probably caused by the wireless charging parts. The case may be purchased separately and is compatible with the original AirPods.
